Spiritual Life
The heartbeat of City Christian Schools since 1974.City Christian Schools stress a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ, believing that each child should be “born again” according to John 3:3, 5. This has been the core foundational purpose since beginning more than three decades ago.
At City Christian Schools, we are not only interested in educating the mind, but we also want to build the spirit. This is done by daily interaction between students and teachers, along with weekly scheduled chapel times. Chapels are held once a week beginning with student led praise and worship. Teachers, pastors or students bring the message.
Students are encouraged to memorize eight to ten verses of the Bible each month and they receive rewards for their efforts. Each day classes open with devotions, prayer, and a short study on Bible truths.
In all grades we incorporate small group discussions focusing on personal and spiritual growth in the students’ lives. The elementary school has daily Bible class where students learn biblical truths and practical application in their personal lives. In high school we offer classes on Bible and Christian apologetics.
We strongly encourage student participation in the annual Generation Unleashed Conference held locally, one of the largest youth conferences held in the United States.
Students are given the opportunity to perform in services and participate in outreaches to our city or other countries.
City Christian Schools staff and administration encourages a positive peer influence among students, striving to foster a fun and interactive environment where healthy friendships come naturally. A godly compassion is encouraged, bringing about a positive atmosphere of love, care and concern toward one another.
