End Of Year Letter From The Principal
Summer is now upon us and I am sure that each of you have some plans to enjoy the weather and the extra time. I pray that you will have some great family time and will return safely and refreshed. We have just completed an excellent year with many highlights, including trips to Washington DC, Mexico, and some great musicals. We saw most of our graduates heading to the colleges of their choice.
Our CAT scores returned with very encouraging results. All classes reported results above the national average in grade equivalency and overall the school averaged almost two years ahead of the national average.
We want to thank you parents for your support. We couldn’t teach your students to this degree without a good school/home partnership.
Every year we announce any staff changes that will be taking place when we resume school. We are happy to say that all of our main staff are planning to be on duty when school starts in the fall. There will only be some minor adjustments in some administrative and teacher’s aide positions.
I do want to tell you about an exciting change that we are making with one of our existing staff. We are expanding the job responsibilities of Faith Mason to include the duties of an Instructional Coordinator.
Instructional Coordinators by federal definition evaluate how well a school’s curriculum or plan of study meets students’ needs. Based on their research and observations of instructional practice, they recommend improvements. Instructional Coordinators research teaching methods and techniques and develop procedures to ensure that instructors are implementing the curriculum successfully and meeting program goals. They play a large role in improving the quality of education in the classroom.
Faith is well qualified to handle the requirements of this position. She currently holds two education degrees. One is a BS in Human Development and the second is a Master of Education. She is licensed at the Preschool -
8th level, the Middle School level, and finishing her High School level license this summer. She is very passionate about quality education and has done an excellent job teaching at City Christian School for the last eight years. She will continue to teach two English classes and Worship Leaders Training. The remainder of her time will be given to her new responsibilities.
Please keep us in your prayers this summer as we are working hard at making all the necessary preparations for next year.
Serving in Christ,
Edward Mason
Principal
